Self control Part 2


Self control is a person’s ability to control emotions, desires and actions. It is the ability to separate the feelings from the self. When you let your feelings become you, your actions and decision making capabilities become hindered. You may end up reacting based on your feelings and not acting according to the situation. How to gain self control, takes a lot of practice and consistent effort to get control over your feelings. But all that effort and practice will pay off in the long run and pave the way for your success in leading a balanced life.

Needs and desires are completely different things. There are times when desires become so strong that they transform into needs. Self control will keep those desires under control. Think of your favorite food, or even better bring it home and don’t eat it yet. As a first step to gain self control set your mind that you will not eat that food for ‘x’ number of days. I know, this sounds kind of ridiculous, but trust me it works. Abstaining from something that you really crave for will develop resistance to impulses and desires in you. When you can resist temptation you have gained self control over your desires.

All our actions are defined by our emotions. Emotions are the most difficult to control, but if you can gain that control over your emotions you have mastered self control. Emotions could be anything ranging from anger, happiness, sorrow, frustration, etc. Out of all these the biggest step towards greater self control is controlling anger and frustration. Anger overpowers your mind and senses; you may do or say something that you will regret later. Anger is self-destructive and you don’t want to walk that path. When any person or situation makes you angry, try this: Count till 3 before you react or divert your attention to anything that will give the required pause before reacting. This pause will mellow down your anger and as you keep practicing you will eventually gain complete control over your temper.

Meditation is one of the best methods to gain self control and balance your body and mind. Meditation helps unclutter your mind of unwanted thoughts and emotions and also helps you focus and de-stress. Having a calm and clear mind enables you to control your feelings and in turn your actions.

Self Control Part 1


I would like to bring you a short article that gives some tips on improving your self-control . Below is a short synopsis of the full article.

1. "Drop a small bad habit"
This may something like never remembering to put the cap back on the toothpaste. Just try to develop this one act of self-control and you will be better off.

However, the author of this article seems to think "Other examples include giving up a regular afternoon snack, pressing the snooze button on the alarm clock, or having one too many coffees a day" which in my opinion none of these are small habits! I spend a lot of time and grief trying not to press that damn snooze button in the morning! At this blog we are working on all habits, because what is small to you may be a mountain to climb for me!

2. "Learn something boring but useful."

Now this is an exercise I can really get behind. If we all resolved to go home today and read ONE chapter in a manual we have (for the DVR recorder, for the digital camera, for the exercise bike, etc.) I bet we could all learn something really helpful in making our lives easier or more efficient! In fact, if you decide to do this, please leave a comment on what you wound up reading and learning so that you can be an inspiration to others!

3. "Do something you know you should every day for a week"

This is a toughie! If I could do something every day for a week, I feel like I would already have a new habit! The author says if we miss a day you have to add one 2 more days of doing it at the end of the week. Now what could I do to follow this task? And also, after a week should you let yourself stop doing it, even though you know it is something you should be doing every day?

4. "Set yourself an achievable, but difficult goal with a date for reaching it"

I don't know how this is a simple exercise for building self-control. Everyone should be doing this as they try to make it to a goal, but this is not what I had in mind when I said a simple exercise. Maybe, to make it simpler, it could be, to lose 2 pounds by March. Thats not too bad.

5. "Have a month where you ban yourself from putting anything off"

????? This is bizarre to me! If the readers of his article could accomplish this, are they really the people who are going to be reading this article? Although I am grateful for this writer in publishing these 5 Tips, I think this last tip may go a little too far for his audience. Maybe they are meant to be progressive tips, after you accomplish one you are ready for the next. However, I think they give someone struggling too much too soon. If you read this and think, that would be impossible for me to do, don't get discouraged! Everyone is at a different place. Like the author of the article I wrote about last time said, everyone's muscles are in a different place and someone is able to lift 10 pounds and another person is able to lift 100 lbs. Thats okay as long as you are working towards something.

Tampin Nemo......


I and my friends ( karen, hong jing, ah mok, chang) saw a fish gliding over on the road... So pity man, it's body was injured n we can see some reddish kind of thing on its body... Just imagine a fish in a dry condition.... It was gasping for air n it really chase for its life... We really donow wat to do as no any water supplies... All we have was my 600ML of drinking water, and Im not sure it can survive or not wth such little amount of water.... Seriously it has a around 5% chance to survive... Ah mok was so brave to take the fish from the road n put it inside a plastic bag, then we quickly ran to get some water for it.... We walked dowm from the hill n search for some sources of water... So lucky man, we saw a drain haha but there is no enuf water, n meanwhile looking for water we left the fish into the drain... My goodness the fish din move at first and we thought its gone, then wthn few seconds it can swim little bit n so clever the fish can swim towards the spot wer the water level is quite high... We saw a cat like so excited to c the fish, n we were scared it would eat the fish, so 2 of my frenz stand there just to make the cat to not nearing the poor fish... N we asked one of my fren's help who staying near the hill, she gave us a plastic full wth water haha then we put back the fish into it... Wah so nice to see the fish swim again haha like so satisfied..... Then we donow wer to release the fish.. Tot of releasing it in Taman Clonlee river, bt so geli the river so muddy haha... so we went to tampin lake garden n release it there... Wah finally the NEMO we found near the hill now is in new home hahaha... Hope it can swim happily.........

My Dream House




My Dream House would be a reflection of me. When you look at this home, it would be almost as if you were looking into my soul. Every corner of this house will show my personality and in some cases will even show my inner self.

The house will sit on 15 acres of land. The grounds will be kept in a imple yet elegant matter. All lines will direct you to the main entrance of my home.

Once you've reached my front door you will begin to notice how well thought out this house really is. To make my guest feel more welcome, I have decided to put double doors. These doors will be made out of oak and they will have stain glass to give it character.

As you enter my forye, you will notice a water fountain with angels in it. The foutain will be made out of white marble, and will have a soothing effect to who ever enters the home. the forye will have a cathedral ceiling. I will have a small skylight installed so the sun can highlight my water fountain. Directly behind the water foutain will be a swirling staircase.

My Hero


I wish to see my hero one day haha in real... Those days I used to imagine Mickey is a real creature, n I really fall for him at the very first sight... I still remember my 8th birthday celebration.... My fren gave me a alarm clock and you know wat its my first alarm clock, and its so special as its in the shape of MIckey.... So shit, one day I threw it away wen it make sound n make me awake.. Wen i got up n search for it, Mickey alarm is no more, it broken into pieces.... I cried n really sad, and accept the fact tht MY MICKEY IS GONE... I buried it safely in my garden.... Wat the heck???? aftr one month My dad wanted to renovate my house... n the stupid constructor placed a sharp concrete right into the place i burried him..... I wish him to be rest in peace.....
